–CONTRARY to past dismissals, there's nothing sarcastic about the title of Jet's comeback single, She's A Genius (3/5). A paean to an alpha female that focuses on her forthrightness, the three-minute track picks up with a riff that's business-like as opposed to flamboyant, before Nic Cester's vocal is enhanced by 1980s radio production for the chorus. Cester retains the quartet's strongest asset - a naturally conducive rock'n'roll voice - and with the group putting aside the stately strolls of the Shine On era, renewal is suggested. It's an energetic, though not distinctly memorable, return.
